Connecting to AWS Doc Db using Robo 3T

Sometimes, due to firewall or other proxy restrictions, it could be impossible to connect from your environment to AWS hosted Doc DB (Mongo) using Mongo Compass Client.

Client used: Robo 3T

Version: Any stable version

Pricing: Free (for personal use)

Steps

  1. Install Robo 3T
  2. Upon successful installation, launch the client
  3. Click Create and then start inputting the details
  4. Connection details

5. Authentication

6. SSH

SSH Tab

7. TLS

Not applicable. Usually one of SSH or TLS would be used.

8. Advanced

Not applicable unless you wanna use a different default database

9. Click on Test

Once all the tabs are filled out, check on Test to verify if the connection is successful and proceed to save.

10. Save it

11. Now after the connection lists, click on connect. It should be successful
